Happy Saturday all!
I hope you had an amazing weekend and stuffed yourself silly with turkey and pie. This week’s post is a special one, because I teamed up with Megan, the girl behind Well Dressed Mess – a blog intended to help you live a happier, more colorful life!
The two of us put our brains together to figure out what we thought our readers might be craving around this time of year. I think most of us can relate to the feeling of “burn out.” Being unmotivated, struggling to be productive…ya just need some inspiration! So we have 20 Inspirational Quick Fixes that will pick you right up out of that rut!
#1. An Inspirational Aroma
If any of you are anything like me, you take one step in Bath & Body Works and it feels as if a spell has been cast upon you. You are prisoner the delicious scents. Try buying a fresh scented candle such as a cotton scent, eucalyptus scent or mint scent. It will help clear your mind and senses and help you focus on the task at hand.
#2. Change Up Your Environment
Ever feel the need to escape? Whenever my motivation is dwindling, it often means it’s time for a change in scenery. Try working in a new coffee shop, re-organizing your room or hanging up some new decorations!
#3. The Law of Attraction
This concept is a bit vast for me to explain, so I am going to direct you to my FAVORITE YouTube channel that deals with the Law of Attraction. (I highly suggest you grab a cup of tea or coffee, because you’ll want to binge watch her videos. Get ready to change your life!)
#4. Get Out of Your Comfort Zone
Spend some time with someone you don’t know super well – or get to know someone completely new to your life. This forces a different part of your brain to work, which can get those creative juices flowing and re-energize your soul. Plus, you make a new friend in the process – win-win!
#5. Get Some Fresh Air
Open up a window in your work space or head into the great outdoors! Allow the fresh, natural breeze to invigorate your senses and clear your mind. It will help you put everything into perspective so you can sort things out in your mind and get a clearer grip on your main focus.
#6. Take a Nap
Sleeping is seriously underrated in today’s society. We NEED sleep. Seriously. Without sleep, we can’t fight off sicknesses as easily, you can become irritable, depressed, your skin will suffer, your body will suffer, stress levels will rise and it will be harder for you to enjoy life and stay motivated.
#7. Coffee. Coffee. Coffee.
There is nothing wrong with needing a caffeine boost! For me, it literally gets me out of bed in the morning. I jump out of bed (literally) smiling thinking about my peppermint mocha coffee creamer. Don’t go overboard with the coffee – I do 2-3 cups a day. Some people require more – some less. Just brew some when you need a little kick in the pants to keep movin!
#8. Power Snacks.
Fueling your body properly is SO important and often overlooked. Power snacks fill you up and give you the energy to keep going while supplying your body with the proper nutrients. My personal favorite power snack is a Nature Valley Sweet & Salty Peanut Butter bar and a banana.
#9. Accomplish a “Mini Challenge”
We can often trick our brains into doing what we want. Often times, we are unmotivated because we feel discouraged and unaccomplished. Set a timer for 5 minutes, and complete a 5 minute workout circuit. Or, set a timer for 10 minutes and meditate for 10 minutes. Do a load of laundry. Go do your grocery shopping. Set a small goal for yourself and accomplish it immediately. You’ll be shocked at how much better you feel afterwards!
It’s necessary. A bubble bath, extra long shower, jam sesh, Zumba class, dinner with your bestie…do something you enjoy and step away from the rest of your responsibilities. You will be pleasantly surprised.
Don’t stop here. Head over to Well Dressed Mess to get the other 10 inspirational quick fixes and get on track to becoming the best YOU starting RIGHT NOW!
See you next weekend!
