As many of you know, I am a big believer in the phrase “less is more.” Although I may have just as much to do as the next person, I find a way to fit everything into my day and still spend quality time with my family, which is my very first priority each day. So here is a peek into my life as a full time working mother.
5:30 a.m. Drag myself out of bed, wishing I could crawl back in! Pet the dog, make a warm cup of coffee, talk to my husband…
6:15 a.m. Start getting ready for my day! Take a quick shower, put on some makeup, do my hair and get dressed (in an outfit carefully laid out the night before)
7:15 a.m. Make my third cup of coffee (whoops!) and eat some breakfast. Usually fruit, yogurt and granola. Yum!
7:45 a.m. Leave for work!
8:00 a.m. Get settled into my desk, check emails and review my calendar for the day. FYI: My specific job title is a Business and Strategic Development Analyst. I work in the marketing sector of my company.
8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Pop in and out of meetings with my boss, working on marketing initiatives, etc.
12:30 – 1:30 p.m. Lunch time! Fortunately I live close enough to run home for a quick lunch. Or I head out to lunch with some co-workers!
1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Once again, in and out of meetings. Speaking with multiple teams on projects, more marketing information and plenty of check ups with my boss and fellow teammates!
4:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. My day at the office begins winding down. I might sneak a baggie of peanuts, finish up any last work and tidy up my desk before leaving.
4:45 p.m. Get home from work and immediately change into exercise clothing.
4:55 p.m. – 5:45 p.m. Workout time! I am a big fan of the P90X workouts, Pilates and yoga. I alternate which ones I do each day.
5:45 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. I usually prepare some kind of Crockpot or slow cooker dinner, so I simply finish up the last bits of it, squeeze in a quick shower and prepare dinner for my husband, my youngest son and myself (and save a potato or two for the dog!).
7:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. My husband and I put on our walking shoes and do a brisk walk! Usually it’s about 20-30 minutes, sometimes we go for an hour. It helps us feel lighter after eating hearty dinners!
7:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. I use this time to prep for the next day. I scroll through my email, the Inspirational Nectar Instagram, check in with my two older kids, Nick and Erica (who you obviously know!), lay out my outfit for the next day, help my youngest son pack up his lunch for the next day and make sure I feel organized and my alarms are set for the next morning.
8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Make a warm cup of hot cocoa and turn on Friends for a perfect ending to a simply wonderful day.
