Most people would not believe this now, but I used to be a super unhappy, depressed person. Especially when the warm weather disappeared. I would cope by having things to look forward to. Jump forward to present day, and I no longer view it as “coping” but rather enjoying the season. Fall is such a fun time, especially for us younger people.
Whether you struggle with appreciating the fall season, or you are a full on autumn fanatic, practice making life sweet by taking part in these classic traditions.
Smell good. One thing I have never complained about when it comes to fall is the scents! My absolute favorite is the Bath & Body Works Tailgate scent, but I also love cinnamon scents. Go pick out one of the smaller candles for $10 and burn em’ down!
Couture. (Wow I actually really don’t like that word). But in all seriousness, fall fashion is so fun! You get to play with a variety of pieces because of the mild weather. I love dressing in layers with flannels, leggings and moccasins.
Football season. The Sunday night football theme song always brings me right back to my childhood. I loved sitting in the living room with my family, just hanging out and watching the game. If you’re in high school, there is nothing better than Friday nights under the lights. And if you’re in college – football season = tailgate season aka the best time of the year. It’s practically Christmas for us every day during football season.
Bonfires. I can’t even tell you how many bonfires I had/went to in high school. I swear, it is the fall hang out. So pick up some graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate and invite your friends over!
My point is, fall is such a fun time. So enjoy and cherish it!
